A BLESSING IN DISGUISE

Our reaction to problems is very interesting and if we always have a positive attitude, it can actually be a blessing! An old king wanted to teach his son that a problem that is in your way can be a blessing in disguise.  He ordered his men to place a big rock in the path where the people travelled and in disguise he observed the reaction of the people. Everybody reacted in a negative manner and nobody attempted to do something about it.

Then an old farmer came along after a long day in the field, when he saw the rock in the road he laid down his stuff and started to push the rock out of the way. As he removed the rock he found a bag filled with money underneath the rock and a letter saying that this is your reward for making a difference. This lesson made the king’s son realize that in every problem there is a potential blessing.

May I share our opportunity. We returned form town with the Landy, and at about 1000-500 meters from home I heard the Land Rover making a different sound as if something came loose. At home I investigated the noise and found the vacuum pump leaked oil, and being under pressure made the noise. So just as we thought the Land Rover is running smoothly the next opportunity, which other people would call a problem, occurred and as it happened we knew Father God is in control!

Contemplating the situation we realized how Father God once again blessed us since we do not have another car, we can enjoy a wonderful sabbatical weekend having time to spend in the presence of the Lord. Also that the Lord is directing us to the mechanic living in Marloth Park  to assist in the repair process. It happened close to our house, but in that short distance we already lost almost 1liter of engine oil. Praise the Lord thus no damage was done, and we only need to replace the vacuum pump.  So we praise the Lord, He protected us and the Land Rover and  is giving us an opportunity to learn more about the Landy.

As I am writing we are still on the sabbatical  weekend so we will have to see how the Lord is going to lead all work for His Glory. Based on the lesson the king learnt his son, we see the blessing, although it had the potential of presenting itself as a problem.

We praise God for every opportunity He creates in our life so that through it He draws us closer to Him.
