10 October 2025 : Wait, go in obedience
As mentioned before the Lord is using the Land Rover restoration to teach us concerning our spiritual walk with the Lord.
In Luke 24:49 the Lord gave a direct command “And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
Even though the Land Rover have not yet been through the roadworthy test, we made the decision to go on the first mission to Ingwavuma via Swaziland. The Lord in His loving kindness and mercy used a small thing to stop us from continuing, and in so prevented a potential major problem.
We believe that the Lord in His LOVING KINDNESS is more concerned about us than we tend to think. He save us from ourselves, if only we are willing to see. In the aftermath of what happened, we could clearly see God’s hand in our lives as He is truly the author and finisher of our faith. Meaning as the Word says in 2 Chronicles 16 verse 9: “For the eyes of the Lord run to and tro throughout the whole earth to give strong support to those whose heart is BLAMELESS TOWARDS HIM”
We only started the journey, as the Land Rover came to a sudden halt , the engine just died on us. As I checked under the car I did not even consider any possibilities, for when I saw the oil leak, I was convince that it was a major problem and I proceeded to contact the workshop to tow us in.
After just 5 minutes at the workshop the engine started, the problem was just a loose wire on the diesel pump. The oil leak was not to the extend that it caused any damage, but could have been if the engine did not stall and we have continued our journey of a 1000 km.
The Lord however showed us that He is the source of our power and we must be connected to Him to ensure that we are powered by Him and not in what we want to do. It is essential that we focus on God and His timing. We must realize that sometimes we are so zealous to do something for the Lord that we go, but not based on God’s command but our own zealousness. These zealous acts are not wrong but if it is done from works and not according to God’s purpose and plan, it can be seen as an act of disobedience. The consequence will be that you will be running without the over flowing oil of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord protected the Land Rover from a potential sized gearbox, as result of running without oil. Likewise the Lord is protecting us when He ask obedience rather than sacrifice. Running without the oil of the Holy Spirit within us, can result in Spiritual burn out, just like an engine that ceases due to a lack of oil.
If we however wait like Jesus commanded in Act 1:4 “And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me.” When we wait until we hear from the Lord and then gô, wê go in power and as a witness to our Lord.
